رای‌گیری انتخابات میان‌دوره‌ای آمریکا در جریان است و برخی حوزه‌های نخستین پایان زمان اخذ رای‌ را اعلام کردند؛ انتخاباتی که آزمونی برای دوره دوم ریاست‌جمهوری دونالد ترامپ تلقی می‌شود و مشخص خواهد کرد جمهوری‌خواهان کنترل کنگره را در دو سال پایانی ریاست‌جمهوری او حفظ خواهند کرد یا نه. بیش از ۵۸ میلیون آمریکایی پیش از روز انتخابات رأی داده‌اند که رکوردی در انتخابات میان‌دوره‌ای محسوب می‌شود. نظرسنجی‌ها از احتمال پیروزی دموکرات‌ها در مجلس نمایندگان و حتی سنا حکایت دارند، هرچند رقابت در چند ایالت بسیار نزدیک است. افزایش هزینه‌های زندگی، که جنگ با ایران به آن دامن زده، از مهم‌ترین مسائل این انتخابات است.
