‘I love the club, fans and the city of Munich,’ says striker

Kane has 156 goals in 161 Bayern games since 2023

England captain and Ballon d’Or winner Harry Kane has signed a new deal with Bayern Munich through to 2029, the German club have announced.

Kane moved to Bayern from Tottenham in 2023 for a record €100m fee and has proved a huge success, scoring 156 goals in 161 competitive appearances and leading the German club to two Bundesliga titles and a DFB Cup.

The 33-year-old was named as the world’s best male player last week after scoring a remarkable 89 goals for club and country since the start of August 2025, becoming the first Englishman to win the Ballon d’Or in 25 years and the first Bayern player since Karl-Heinz Rummenigge in 1981 to win the award.

“I feel right at home at FC Bayern,” said Kane. “I love the club, the fans and the city of Munich. We have a fantastic team and, in Vincent Kompany, a fantastic manager. It makes me very proud to be part of this club. My whole family is very happy here. I was keen to stay. I’m now looking forward to the future and I want to win many more titles with this great club.”

In September, Kane became the fastest player in German history to reach 100 Bundesliga goals, doing so in 98 games to shatter the previous record set by Dieter Mueller in 1977 by 31 games.

Bayern did not disclose financial details of the agreement. However, German media reported that the extension is the most lucrative contract in the club’s history and part of a long-term commitment to the England captain.

“We’re absolutely delighted, because with Harry Kane we have the Ballon d’Or winner on the pitch – a team player, a leader, the best all-round striker in the world,” said Christoph Freund, Bayern’s sporting director. “We all benefit from his qualities as a player and as a person, day in, day out. FC Bayern thrives on players who never stop giving their all, even when they have already achieved the greatest of goals.”

This month Kane equalled England’s all-time men’s caps record, while nudging his international goal tally to 91 in 125 appearances.
